ZWPSL CELEBRATE MUKURA’S ZIFA ELECTION WIN

THE Zimbabwe Women Premier Soccer League (ZWPSL) are in dreamland following the election of a member they had endorsed to the ZIFA presidium.

Herentals Queens supremo Loveness Wadzanai Mukura is the new ZIFA vice-president following her election victory last Saturday.

She, together with Kenny Ndebele, will deputise the newly-installed president Nqobile Magwizi.

And the ZWPSL are happy especially to see one of their own, whom they had endorsed, making it to the high table of ZIFA.

The ZWPSL resolved to give Mukura their blessings last year and committed to stand with her.

“On behalf of the Zimbabwe Women Premier Soccer League, we extend our warmest congratulations to our former Board member VP Mukura on her election as ZIFA vice-president,” said ZWPSL in a statement.

“We are incredibly proud of the integral role you played in shaping the women’s game in Zimbabwe, particularly in your capacity as our finance board member.

Your expertise, leadership and passion for women’s football have been invaluable to our league.

“We have no doubt that vice-president Mukura will bring the same level of dedication and excellence to her new role at ZIFA.

“We look forward to seeing the positive impact she will bring to Zimbabwean football as a whole.”

The ZWPSL, which rallied Mukura all the way through thick and thin as she was campaigning, said football will never be the same again with a new female vice-president at the association.

This is the first time that ZIFA has had a female vice-president in the association’s history.

“We have no doubt that she will work tirelessly to promote and develop football in Zimbabwe. We also look forward to collaborating with the new board to advance women’s football,” added ZWPSL.

“Mukura will make a positive impact in Zimbabwean football and we look forward to exciting times in the football scene.”
