THE body of a 12-year-old girl, swept away by a flooded stream yesterday, was retrieved early on Friday morning.
Devon Mvuduma, who was a Grade 6 pupil at Three Brigade Primary School, slipped and was swept away on Thursday afternoon while walking home from school.
Her lifeless body was found around 7am near a footbridge after a thorough search by police and members of the Zimbabwe National Army.
The search began around 4am after a community-led search in Chikanga and Sakubva on Thursday yielded nothing.
Acting Manicaland police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the incident.
