ANOTHER schoolchild died in Mutare this afternoon after a tragic accident in a deep, muddy pool near Golden Peacock Hotel in Chikanga Phase 3 suburb.

The child had been swimming with friends.

Although details surrounding the child’s death are still unclear, Manicaland police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the incident.

“We have not yet gathered much detail, but we can confirm that the incident occurred, and they are still waiting for the Sub Aqua Unit,” said Assistant Inspector Chinyoka.

The ongoing rain season, which was highly anticipated after a prolonged dry spell, is proving to be a curse rather than a blessing.

The latest death of a schoolchild comes shortly after another pupil lost their life after being swept away by the Sakubva River yesterday.
