A LEARNER collapsed during today’s assembly meeting at Zamba Primary School as drama continue to unfold at the learning institution.
Yesterday parents staged a demonstration and drove their children out of classrooms in protest over the posting of a new deputy headmistress, a Mrs Gowora whom they claim practice satanisim.
Mrs Gowora did not report for duty today, and the school held its first assembly meeting where one learner collapsed and some teachers had to pray for her to regain consciousness.
Zamba Primary School Development Committee chairman, Mr Tichaona Kanombirira confirmed the incident.
“I am at work right now, but have been briefed that there is stability now at the school, save for one in incident where a learner collapsed during assembly meeting. I don’t know whether it is linked to what parents are suspecting or it is just general fear among the learners. Some teachers had to pray for the learner till she stabilised.
“The new deputy headmistress did not report for duty today. Learning is going on well as there are no protesting parents,” said Mr Kanombirira
The school headmaster, Mr Vincent Chigwanda, said everything is normal at the school.
“Everything is ok and calm. People are just suspecting that the collapse of the learner is linked to what happened yesterday, but there is nothing like that. Parents are actually coming to pay fees. She (Mrs Gowora) did not report for duty today,” said Mr Chigwanda.
