LUKE 1:26-38

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

[27] To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

[28] And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

[29] And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

[30] And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

[31] And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

[32] He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

[33] And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

[34] Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

[35] And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

[36] And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

[37] For with God nothing shall be impossible.

[38] And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Mary was a virgin.

She was told she was going to have a child without any contact with a man.

That was scientifically impossible.

She accepted it to happen to her according to the Word of the Lord.

She did not interrogate the Angel on the mechanics of what He had said.

She believed; God changed the whole course of natural life for her.

Her womb conceived immediately.

Abraham and Sarah had a child, Isaac, from a natural method of having children, although Isaac came by a miracle.

Although Samuel came by a miracle, it was Hannah and her husband who came together for him to be born.

But with Mary, there was no natural means by which a child could be born.

She did not have any carnal relations with a man.

She did what no other person had done.

Her faith was as virgin as she was a virgin.

There was a Scripture in Isaiah that had said: “A virgin shall conceive”.

That Word is what she believed when It was spoken by the Angel Gabriel.

When she allowed the Word to take effect on her, she immediately took conception in her womb. The course of her natural life changed.

If we take God at His Word, He will change the course of our lives.

If you are a sinner, and you take His word at face value, He will change the course of life for you and make you a new creature in His Son.

Let us take God at His word.

He is the One Who made the promise.

He is the One Who confirms that promise.

He is obligated to keep that promise.

Mary did not wait till she was positive or felt that the Word had begun to act in her body.

She did not wait till she felt life, or some physical sign that she was going to have this baby before she said anything about it.

She just believed that God’s Word was good enough for her.

And she started rejoicing right away.

Mary started quickly, testifying that she was going to have that baby.

She did not care how it was going to happen.

She had never known a man; there had never been such as that before; but she just took the Word of the Lord at what It meant and began to rejoice.

She was so happy about it, so happy that God had permitted her, to let a first-hand pioneering miracle be performed on her.

She went about testifying. What was she doing?

She was watering that promise.

The Word was being watered.

That Word became life and started growing.

If God says something to you, start watering the Word.

If you want to come out of the wheelchair, start watering the Word.

If you want to come from that sickness start watering the Word.

Whatever promise you have received from God, start praising God for it; and testify about it.

A virgin shall conceive.

To one without connections, doors will open. To one without any man to support their bid, opportunities will come.
